Caleb's second song

Caleb played Mr. McGill , from memory, for his second piece. He really enjoyed that song. Caleb has come along way this year. He is getting better at sight reading. We will be doing some lessons this summer, so he can stay "sharp" with his musical skills.

Piano recital part 2

Anastasia played The Heart of Worship for her second song. It was a beautiful arrangement by Hayes. Hopefully, Anastasia will continue with her piano playing. She has been given a gift by God. It has always been our prayer that she could bless the church with her music.

Anastasia's piano recital

Anastasia played Traumerei for her recital. She played it beautifully. Anastasia has really matured in her piano playing. She has been able to glorify God with her musical talent.

Caleb's piano recital

Caleb experienced his fourth piano recital on Saturday. He played This Little Light of Mine and Mr. McGill. It's amazing how far he has come, since the beginning of the year. He has always expressed an interest in playing the sax, but he is still a little young to play. So, we told him if he started with piano, he could learn the notes and make the transition that much easier when he started the saxaphone.

Carmen's song

Anastasia has become very close with Miss Carmen. She has been battling cancer for years. Anastasia wanted to do something special for her, so she decided to do what she does best-sing! Originally, they sang it in church for Carmen. We were not able to tape it, so Scott & Anastasia sang it again so we could tape it for Miss. Carmen. Now, she can play it whenever she needs encouragement. They sang a Third day song-Cry Out To Jesus. What a beautiful song about the Savior's great love for us. Enjoy!

Vote for Anastasia

Hello blogging world. Well, I have not updated in MONTHS. Anastasia's contest has caused me to post. She would love an opportunity to be on the TV show, GLEE. Fox 50 is doing a contest to help someone record a professional audition tape for the producers of Glee. The voting has already started. You can vote once per day, until Sunday evening at 12:00am. Please go to www.fox50.com and click on the Glee contest voting. You do not have to create an account if you just want to vote. If you would like to leave a comment, you must be logged in. She is number 17 on the second page..Anastasia R. She is singing, "O Danny Boy." The song choices were not that good. Hopefully, she can pick a different song if she wins. Thanks for supporting Anastasia.

Bible Quiz Bowl

Our church had there first Bible quiz bowl on Saturday night. The mixed adult Sunday school class had organized it as a fund raiser for the church. Saturday morning was the basketball camp. Caleb loved the camp and was asking when the next one was going to be scheduled. After the camp, there was a hot dog dinner. Hot dogs are one of Caleb's favorite foods. Then, came the bible bowl. Caleb did not want to enter because he is not competitive. He does better with team activities. We talked and I told him it was just for fun. He did enjoy getting all the sponsors from people in the church. He definitely is a gifted salesman. Caleb got two sheets filled up with names, all on his own! Anastasia also entered the Bible bowl. We told her it would help recruit other kids if she helped out. She was also able to be a helper for the basketball camp. The kids had a great time. Caleb was surprised when he placed first for the 6-8 year old group. Ted and I thought that some of the questions were tough. All the kids did great! It is wonderful to see our kids hide God's word in their hearts. I hope all the children enjoyed the day. Anastasia did a super job in the Bible bowl. She came in a close second to Molly Melton. The Lord really blessed our efforts and we were able to raise over $1,300.
